Committees
The Milton Chamber of Commerce populates a number of committees that do a variety of tasks, from awards nominations to forming the policies of the Chamber and liaising with levels of government on behalf of the Chamber's members. A member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber traditionally chairs each committee and the committee membership is made up of volunteers from member businesses. The committees of the Chamber are listed below, along with a description of the work each does. If you are interested in being involved with one or more of these committees or require further information on a committee, please do not hesitate to contact the Chamber office at 905-878-0581.

Meetings and Seminars
This committee is responsible for organizing and orchestrating many of our special events under the Chamber umbrella. Partnering with local banquet halls, events are often politically focused including breakfast meetings with the Mayor, our Member of Provincial Parliament and various guest speakers such as our Minister of Finance. Nonpolitically focused events include a new initiative – New Members Breakfast and the Lunch Box Tours.
Membership Services
The Membership Services Committee, made up of the committee Chairs, acts as a liaison between the Chamber committees and the Board of Directors.
Scholarship Selection
This committee, formed in 2007, was developed to discuss the future of the Chamber Scholarship Fund. Historically, monies raised from the Scholarship Café were used to offer scholarships to local schools in the community. With the introduction of the Sports Celebrity Dinner & Auction, raising $10,000 at the inaugural event in 2002, a committee was formed to ensure the continuation, development and again, “smart growth” of the Fund. The committee consists of volunteers, many of whom come from the financial sector, who meet to discuss the possibility of the development of a development fund. A secondary responsibility of this committee is to decide the structure of the Chamber Scholarship Fund. In the past, we have offered scholarships to the schools and the schools have chosen the recipients with very little involvement by the Chamber.
Special Events
This committee is responsible for organizing the Chamber's major events:
Sports Celebrity Dinner & Auction
This committee is responsible for planning the fundraising event including selection of celebrities, organization of the events, sponsorship and ticket sales. The proceeds from this event help fund the Chamber Scholarship Fund.
