Get your copy of the Hospital Mural
The Fine Arts Society of Milton is pleased to be able to offer you an opportunity to purchase a print of our amazing ‘hospital’ mural. The mural is installed in the foyer of the newly expanded Milton District Hospital and greets patients, staff and visitors at an astounding size of 33 ft x 8 ft.
This impressive piece of art is a collaborative achievement of 32 volunteer artists who dedicated over 1500 hours to its conceptualization, planning and creation. It is constructed of Russian birch panels overlaid with cardboard sheets and painted with a special eco friendly acrylic paint. Areas of the cardboard have been peeled away to create a unique textural effect. There are also areas of bas relief adding to the interest of the unique piece.
The concept for the art was conceived by our member, renowned artist Tina Newlove and with the coordination skills of sculptor Nancy Cuttle who supervised the artists over a 6 month period brought the idea to fruition.
Ursula McDermid, President of the Fine Arts Society of Milton liaised with the Halton Health Care Services Redevelopment Team on all aspects of the mural creation as well as other artwork throughout the facility to ensure the suitability of the theme, size, materials and installation. The team is thrilled with the outcome.
The title of the mural is ‘’ Milton’s Nature Warms the Soul” and as shown above reflects the four seasons and familiar environment we are surrounded by. The colours and shapes are soothing yet vibrant and fit into any decor. The composition and hues create an ambiance for contemplation and reflection, perfect for the foyer of a hospital environment as well as in the home.
The prints, which measure 41’’ X 14”, are framed with a plain black frame carefully chosen to enhance the watercolour-like quality of the painting. The prints are being offered for $225. each (tax incl.) and will be delivered locally at no charge.
To order your print email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Ursula 905 693 0378.
