The Milton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. The $1,000 scholarships will be presented on June 8, 2019 at Milton Farmers’ Market on Main Street in Downtown Milton.
Since 1990, the Milton Chamber of Commerce (MCC) has offered $1,000 scholarships to students attending their first year of post-secondary education; one for a student from each Milton high school including E.C. Drury for the Deaf, one for a high school student registered in an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program and one for a child of a Chamber member.
The MCC is pleased to announce their 2019 Scholarship recipients in the following categories:
- Jessica Brown – Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School
- Julia Marques – Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School
- Maria Mihu – Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School
- Annika Peck – Milton District High School
- Brooke Playter – Craig Kielburger Secondary School
- Michaela Trevisan – Child of a Chamber Member
The MCC Scholarship Fund is supported in part by the proceeds from the Milton Farmers’ Market Scholarship Café. To increase awareness of this fundraising effort, the MCC will host the 2019 Scholarship Presentation Ceremony at the Milton Farmers’ Market.
The public is invited to the Milton Farmers’ Market to join Mayor Gord Krantz and representatives from Laurier University and the MCC Board of Directors at the Milton Chamber of Commerce’s Information Tent outside The Ivy Arms on Saturday, June 8 at 11:00 am to watch the presentation. After the Scholarship Presentations the Milton Chamber of Commerce and Laurier University will be distributing free reusable shopping bags.
The Milton Farmers’ Market is presented in partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University
