Nominations are now open for the Community Awards

The Community Awards Gala celebrates businesses and individuals who have made exceptional contributions through their involvement and leadership in the community since 1981. It is a time for the business community to come together and show appreciation to those who have helped shape the Milton Community as one of the strongest business communities in Canada.
The Milton Chamber is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Community Awards. The nomination deadline is October 19, 2017.

Lifetime Achievement
This category is open to any individual who lives or volunteers in the town of Milton throughout their lifetime for a minimum of 25 years. Consideration is given based on the following criteria: community leader, volunteer, supporter, goodwill ambassador, lifetime of volunteering.

Citizen of the Year
This award recognizes an individual who lives or volunteers in the Town of Milton and who has made a unique contribution to the Milton community within the last 12 months. Consideration is given based on the following criteria: community leader, volunteer, supporter and goodwill ambassador.

Joyce Hagevik Volunteer of the Year
This award category is open to a local business person who lives in the Town of Milton and volunteers their time and energy towards supporting the success of the Milton community. Consideration is given based on the following criteria: community supporter, lifelong volunteer, community volunteer, and goodwill ambassador.

Civic Improvement of the Year
The award recognizes a Milton Business or organization for their efforts to improve the visual appearance of the Town through landscaping, building improvements and other beautification efforts. Consideration is given based on the following criteria: community leader, volunteer, supporter, goodwill ambassador, lifetime: Improvement in the Town of Milton, Investment in the community, Good corporate citizen and involvement in the community.

Business of the Year
(small, Medium & Large)
The award is open to any Private Sector business or industry that operates in the Town of Milton. Consideration is given based on the following criteria; Contributions to employment, innovations in product/service/technology, contributions to the community of Milton, good business standards and ethics and good corporate citizenship.

Entrepreneur of the Year
This category is open to any individual who personally exhibits extraordinary entrepreneurship, energy, inspiration, leadership and/or innovation in their business pursuits. Consideration is given based on the following criteria: community leader, volunteer, supporter, goodwill ambassador, lifetime: Operating success, good business standards and ethic, entrepreneurial innovation, innovations, contributions to employment, good corporate citizen, involvement in community.

Business Person of the Year
This category is open to any individual from business or industry who works in the town of Milton. Consideration is given based on the following criteria: good business standards and ethics, demonstrated concern for work environment, belief in entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership, community involvement and contributor.
