The Community Awards Gala celebrates businesses and individuals who have made exceptional contributions through their involvement and leadership in the community since 1981. It is a time for the business community to come together and show appreciation to those who have helped shape the Milton Community as one of the strongest business communities in Canada.
The Milton Chamber is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Community Awards. The nomination deadline is October 31, 2019. To nominate a worthy individual or business online please visit www.miltonchamber.ca.
This category is open to any community leader who lives in and has participated in the progression and success of the Town of Milton for a minimum of 20 years. This individual has devoted them self continuously throughout their lifetime and has a resume full of contributions and achievements in a variety of different facets (e.g., service, arts, sports, etc.)
Citizen of the Year
This award is open to any goodwill ambassador who lives in the Town of Milton and has made a unique contribution that has led to the betterment of the Milton community within the last 12 months.
Joyce Hagevik Volunteer of the Year
This category is open to any local business person who lives, works, and volunteers in the Town of Milton
This individual volunteers their time and energy towards supporting the success of the Milton business community.
Franchise of the Year
This category is open to any franchisee who operates in the Town of Milton and has been operating locally for a minimum of 5 years. This individual’s merit is based solely on local initiatives, involvement in the community, business excellence, and an above average/steady growth in operations – none of which has been corporately mandated.
Business of the Year
(Small, Medium & Large)
The award is open to any Private Sector business or industry that operates in the Town of Milton. Consideration is given based on the following criteria; Contributions to employment, innovations in product/service/technology, contributions to the community of Milton, good business standards and ethics and good corporate citizenship.
Entrepreneur of the Year
This category is open to any individual from private sector business or industry who has designed, launched, and runs their own business (rather than acquiring an existing business), operates in the Town of Milton, and is in their first 5 years of business
This good corporate citizen and leader has demonstrated the following: extraordinary entrepreneurship, good business standards and ethics, contributions to the community, operating success, and innovations in product/service/technology.
Business Person of the Year
This category is open to any individual from private sector business or industry who operates in the Town of Milton, and has been employed for a minimum of 5 years. This good corporate citizen has demonstrated the following: good business standards and ethics, concern for work environment, contributions to the Milton community, an above average/steady growth in revenue, and innovations in product/service/technology.
