Halton moving to Red – Control zone: Effective Monday, November 16th at 12:01 am.

Premier Doug Ford announced this afternoon the Ontario government is taking immediate action to respond to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases and is updating the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework, by lowering the thresholds for each level in the framework.

This means Halton in moving to Red – Control starting Monday.

 

General public health measures (gatherings, workplace requirements and face coverings)

Gathering limit for all organized public events and social gatherings:

*    10 people indoors

*    25 people outdoors

Restaurants will be allowed a 10 person indoor capacity limit, with outdoor dining, take out, drive through, and delivery still being permitted.

Gyms and fitness studios will be permitted to remain open with specified restrictions to attendance, along with all sports and recreational programs in other facilities.

Requirement for workplace screening.

Face coverings required in:

*    indoor workplaces

*    indoor public spaces, with limited exemptions

Where patrons without face coverings are within two metres of workers, workers much use additional protections such as eye protection

Workplaces must develop and implement a communication/public education plan (highlighting risk)

Physical distancing must be maintained.

Non-essential travel from areas of high-transmission to areas of low transmission should be avoided
